The following is a list of Canadian, American and International Universities that offer Master's Degree programs in the field of English language education.  Many of these degree programs may be completed partly or entirely online and offer options for part-time or full-time study.

School for International Training
Description:

The M.A. in TESOL from SIT in Brattleboro, Vermont, is a blended learning program. Students complete the majority of coursework online while staying in their current jobs and communities, and go to the Vermont campus for three weeks each summer for intensive face-to-face sessions. This is a proven, world-leading M.A. program that merges theory, reflection and practice.

Simon Fraser University
Description:

Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia offers a Master of Education in Teaching English as an Additional Language - Fieldwork Stream. This 17-month program is intensive and the course content addresses international and globalized contexts of English as an International Language (EIL) education. There is a fieldwork component which allows students to observe Canadian English as an additional language classes at different levels. There is also a Teaching English as an Additional Language (TEAL) M. Ed. This particular program differs from the EIL program in that it is NOT intensive. With the expectation that the participants of this particular program are already employed, classes are scheduled in the afternoon and evening. Most participants complete the program in four to six terms.

Description:

The Master’s Program in International Language Education (TESOL) at Soka University is a two-year full time program. Students can choose a practical or research focus for their program. Located in Hachioji, Japan, the program attracts participants from around the world.

St. Francis Xavier University
Description:

The Master of Adult Education at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia is a self directed, distance learning program, with a 3 week residential requirement, where students are allowed to design, implement, and evaluate their own content curriculum. Students choose learning projects and goals on the basis of their own experiences and interests in consultation with their advisor. Students have a 5 year candidacy period within which to complete all program requirements. Suitable for those who have had ESL training in a community college.
